Diana Watkins, DVM
Dr. Diana Watkins grew up in Birmingham, Michigan and currently resides in Cohasset, Massachusetts. She received an undergraduate degree from the University of New Hampshire and earned a DVM degree from Tufts University. Prior to joining the Hingham Animal Clinic team, Dr. Watkins practiced at Animal Hospital of Lynnfield, Bridgewater Veterinary Clinic, and Crazy Paws Animal Hospital. Her special interests include soft tissue surgery, dentistry, allergic skin disease, canine and feline behavior, all aspects of feline internal medicine, in particular respiratory, gastrointestinal, and urinary systems.
Before veterinary school she worked as a scientist at a pharmaceutical company for five years and completed a certificate program in biomedical engineering at Tufts.
Outside of work, Dr. Watkins is an avid runner, so far running three full length marathons, eight half marathons, and a 190-mile relay race divided among twelve friends that they plan to make an annual tradition. She loves hiking, particularly with her sweet hound Rudy, and has been making her way through hiking all the 4000 footers in the White Mountains. Dr. Watkins also loves horseback riding and has done dressage from a young age.
However, her greatest hobby and love is spending time with her three adorable and energetic little men, ages 2, 5, and 7. She finds both kids and animals, along with the innocent and unconditional love they share to be the most beautiful thing in the world.
Dr. Watkins also cares for a 14-year-old hound mix rescue, named Rudy and a 16-month-old kitten that she has bottle fed and raised from six days old, named Smitty.
